Sona heads to the South

Sonakshi Sinha seems to be riding high on the hattrick successes of Rowdy Rathore, Son of Sardaar and Dabangg 2. Turns out, now the actress is not just a sought-after name in Bollywood, the film industry down South seems to want her too.

Word has it that Sona has been paid a whopping `5 crore for a Telugu film opposite superstar Mahesh Babu. “Be it Asin or Tamannah, we have always seen southern actresses head to Bollywood. But this is the other way round. This film will be Sona’s first in the south and going by her current success quotient, expectations are high,” says a source.
Sonakshi’s back-to-back successes in Bollywood has upped her remuneration in the industry. She is being seen in the league of superstars Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra. “Sonakshi deserves the amount she is quoting.

According to our source, Sonakshi had not only been confirmed for the Hindi remake of the original Telugu hit, but she had had even taken the signing amount for the movie. As our source says, "Considering that Sonakshi had a hit in Son Of Sardaar and Dabangg 2 was releasing, Sajid Nadiadwala thought it would be great to repeat the Dabangg jodi for his movie too. And hence, he signed her on for his film, with which he's also making his debut as a director, before the release of Dabangg 2."

Sonakshi Sinha-Mahesh Babu starrer SHIVAM to begin from May

Just a month ago news were doing the rounds that Bollywood’s box-office queen Sonakshi Sinha has signed a Telugu film SHIVAM, opposite southern superstar and heartthrob Mahesh Babu, which is being produced by Ashwini Dutt and directed by Krish aka Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi.  

As per the reports, during one of her visits to South, Sona had expressed her fondness & desire to work with Mahesh Babu. So, when the gorgeous actress was offered the film she grabbed it with both the hands.

The director has almost completed the scripting of the film and the latest buzz in the trade is that the shooting of the film is likely to commence from May, once Mahesh Babu wraps up his current projects like SEETHAMMA VAKITLO SIRIMALLE CHETTU and another untitled film with Sukumar. 

We also hear that Sonakshi Sinha has been signed for a whooping amount.

They may not admit it, but given the intense scrutiny on their public and private image, it is of little surprise that actresses world over vie for a slim and trim figure. However, Sonakshi Sinha makes it very clear that she wants to stay away from the industry's definition of being 'healthy'.

The actress tells us that she hates going to the gym. Says Sonakshi, "After I finished college my only work was to go to the gym but I must confess that I hated it. I hate all kinds of exercising though I like to play sports and dance."
