Sonakshi Sinha on her self- imposed diktats, is staying away from Bollywood camps and having a working birthday. A lot of actors have been giving their birthday celebrations a miss and choosing to keep themselves busy at work instead. Sonakshi Sinha is no different as the actress says she has too many assignments on her plate right now. While shooting for back-to-back films and attending promotional activities at the same time, Sona is glad her work calendar is choc-o-bloc. On the eve of her birthday, Sonakshi speaks to Mid-Day.

How do you plan to celebrate your birthday?
I will have a working birthday but I also want to come home early to make most out of the day. I am shooting back-to-back movies and also doing promotional activities. Though I don’t have any birthday plans right now, if I manage to be home in time, I might go out with my friends and family for dinner or just have a quiet get-together at my place. I like keeping it private.

After working with older actors, we are seeing you now with those of your own age.
I have been asked earlier as well if it was a conscious decision to work with older actors. But now it looks like the other way round. Of course, none of this is planned. I was very young when I entered the industry. I am much more confident now and over the years, I will work with everyone.

You are known to be close to the Salman Khan camp. Does that affect your films with other actors?

Prabhudheva’s next film with Ajay Devgn, which goes on the floors in July, will have three leading ladies. While Sonakshi Sinha and Yami Gautam have been finalised the question is, who will play the third heroine? Apparently, Prabhu is facing a tough time getting the third heroine in place. Sources say the ‘Sonakshi factor’ has put the other girls on the defensive.

Says an insider, “All the three leading ladies have strong roles opposite Ajay. But since Sona has done three films with Prabhudheva (Rowdy Rathore, cameo in Oh My God andRambo Rajkumar) and is seen as Prabhu’s blue-eyed girl, the third female lead is proving tough to cast.”

When Sonakshi Sinha recently tweeted a new look of herself, most of her fans were quick to observe that she had changed her hair colour. Sona, who has been announced the new face of Streax hair colour, posted, "Most of you got it right!! It's my new hair colour, with a secret ingredient — the goodness of walnut oil!! Tell you more about it soon;)".

Sonakshi Sinha has maintained a quintessential look in all her Bollywood films till date. However, when Vikramaditya Motwane showed the rushes of her upcoming film to the actress, she was blown away by her looks in the project.

Sonakshi says, "It was the most difficult shooting experience for me so far. In terms of my character, my look, my performance and the locations, everything had to be from an era I knew nothing about. There were times during the shoot when I would wake up and ask myself, 'why am I doing this?' But when Vikramaditya showed me the trailer and a few rushes from the film, I had my answer right there."
